GAPABA has been monitoring the unfolding news of the COVID-19 Virus throughout the world. As an organization, we are sensitive to not adding to the misinformation and hysteria that has characterized some of the worldwide reaction. We are also sensitive to the fact that this outbreak has fueled xenophobia and racism against Asian Americans. These sensitivities must be balanced against responsible action as a community organization in a time of crisis. We have a role to play in our legal community, the community of our state and country, and in the world community.

Accordingly, consistent with federal and state guidelines, GAPABA has elected to POSTPONE all of our in-person events until further notice, and we are switching over to a VIRTUAL FORMAT. Additionally, our Gala originally scheduled for May 28, 2020 will also be POSTPONED.

As government officials and businesses are currently contemplating a return to some semblance of normalcy in the coming months, we intend to move forward with our event, which continues to be one of the most anticipated social events for the legal community. We will be mindful of the recommendations of health experts in connection with the planning and execution of the gala as the safety of our attendees is of paramount importance. We will let all of you know of our alternate Gala date as soon as we can.  Our hope is that concerted containment efforts will help us return to normal activities in the very near future. We thank you for your support of GAPABA and we hope to see you again when it is safe to resume our activities.

GAPABA hosts many events, both in-person and virtual, including our Annual Gala, Lunar New Year Banquet, Professional Events, Public Service Panels, In-house Counsel Events, CLEs, Happy Hours, Family events, and much much more.
