GAPABA COMMITTEES 2023

Joining a committee is a great way to get actively involved with GAPABA. If you would like to volunteer for or inquire about a committee, please contact the Committee Chairs, provided below. Our teams include Communications, Community Service, Finance, New Lawyers & Law Students, Nominations, Programming, Public Service, the Women's Leadership Network (WLN), and our newest one with a focus on Wellness.

COMMUNICATIONS

COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Communications Administrator provides regular information to our membership, including events and job announcements, and administers our membership database. Comms are responsible for e-blasts, developing our social media strategy, and for updating and administering our Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram as well as maintaining our website. The Committee provides information about GAPABA to news media and other external parties. If you have an affinity for social media, please consider volunteering!

Led by our treasurer, it manages our incoming and outgoing expenses, invoicing to vendors, check payments, receipts, and reimbursements. Each Committee proposes a budget for events in 6-month periods, which are reviewed by the Board for approval.  If you have a head for figures, or administrative accounting details to assist in reviewing our budget, handling sponsorship invoicing, and reconciling reimbursement for events, join us!

    WELLNESS

The Wellness Committee, newly formed in 2023, was conceived to promote well-being amongst GAPABA members using a holistic approach. The committee will host programming specifically designed to address our community’s emotional, spiritual, physical, and nutritional needs. Additional programming would include workshops focused on time-management, managing stress, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and bringing joy to our lives. The versatility of the committee allows for collaboration across all committees, particularly the women’s leadership network, and the new lawyers/law students committee.
