GAPABA's Community Service Committee joins forces with We Love BuHi to feed communities in need along the Buford Highway Corridor!
We Love BuHi is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to preserving the multicultural identity of Atlanta's Buford Highway, the epicenter of an evolving South, where immigrant communities thrive for generations. We Love BuHi launched the project "Feeding Families of Buford Highway" in early 2020 during the pandemic, when food insecurity hit hundreds of families. Many immigrant families on Buford Highway are essential workers, and COVID caused many breadwinners to lose their jobs. Communities were also marginalized because of lack of transportation and English fluency. With the spike in need for access to food, We Love Buhi committed to feeding 500 children and families with nutritious food every month for a full year, impacting nearly 22,000 individuals in 2021.
